Milan Design Week - Haier Infinity room

Design Process

Integrating light, motion and scent into one system

For Haier’s Infinity Room, presented during Milan Design Week 2022, Guarda Studio developed the full technical design and control system of an immersive installation combining light, sound and scent. The project translated Haier’s “connected home” concept into a multisensory experience through a custom DMX network controlled via timecode and motion sensors. The lighting design and programming were built to react in real time to visitor movement and trigger coordinated diffusion of fragrance and sound. Every cue sequence was tested to maintain continuity between the physical and digital environment.

Live Result

Controlled immersion

During the exhibition, the system operated continuously for several days, maintaining stable synchronization between light, audio and scent. Sensor inputs were calibrated to ensure responsive but predictable behaviour, avoiding latency or drift over time. The result was an installation that merged aesthetic clarity with technical reliability — a living system built to engage the senses with precision.
